Alice Springs Mayor Matt Paterson says it’s not “rocket science” to reduce the crime rate in Alice Springs.
“We had a police operation in December last year, we had extra boots on the ground, there was a perception of safety, there were visual presences of the police,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“It worked – crime went down.”
“The request is out there for more federal police, or police, or more resources in Alice Springs.”
